Katie’s daughter lights up the ring
27 Jan 2014Katie Lee was again a headline act on the opening day of NZ Bloodstock’s National Yearling Sale series.
Bred by the farm with Trevor Hurley, the daughter of Pins and the 2010 NZ Broodmare of the Year made $340,000 when sold in 2008.
Katie Lee was purchased by Sir Patrick Hogan and went on to find fame and fortune on the racetrack.
She won eight races and created history when she completed the Group One NZ 2000-1000 Guineas double.
The mare was back in the thick of the Karaka action again when her first foal by Fastnet Rock made $800,000.
Offered by Cambridge Stud, she went to the final bid of Graeme and Debbie Rogerson, who trained Katie Lee.
