Royal double at Randwick
23 Aug 2014Another great day in Sydney for Super Easy’s family with his talented half-brothers providing Hallmark Stud with a double delight.
The exciting young stallion’s siblings Tiger Tees and Terravista claimed the feature events at Randwick and have now won 20 races between them.
Tiger Tees is the fifth foal and Terravista the seventh foal of the super broodmare Parfore (Gold Brose) whose sister Nishaani produced the Captain Rio filly Ill Quello Veloce winner of the Group 1 Manawatu Sires' Produce Stakes and named the Champion 2YO in NZ in 2007 – 08.
Parfore was nominated for Broodmare of the Year last season. She is currently carrying a full sister to Super Easy and has a Zabeel 2 year old colt currently being broken in.
Tiger Tees was the first-up winner of the Gr.3 Aurie’s Star Stakes at Flemington and was again dominant in Saturday’s Gr.2 Warwick Stakes.
“It was a very soft win with no pressure on him and great for the family,” successful rider Glyn Schofield said.
Schofield had the seven-year-old in a good rhythm at the head of the field and they kicked on strongly in the run home.
While Tiger Tees revelled in the heavy going, it was a new experience for Terravista who coped admirably.
The five-year-old came off a five month break to trump his rivals in the Gr 3 Show County Quality.
Terravista had posted his previous six career wins on top of the ground and he took the wet track in his ample stride.
“He was cantering on the turn,” Pride said. “With all due respect to his opposition, he should take care of a field like that.
“He’ll have a couple more starts in Sydney before he goes to Melbourne.”
Terravista was travelling easily on the turn and when rider Hugh Bowman asked him for an effort he quickly put the issue beyond any doubt.
“It was a lovely race for him and he handled the conditions,” Bowman said.
“It was pretty straight forward for him and he’s got an exciting spring ahead – from day one he’s been bullet proof.”
