29 Jan 2015Hallmark Stud ended the second day of the Select Sale at Karaka in emphatic fashion with a good-looking colt realising $190,000.

The handsome youngster is by Authorized, sire of the recent Gr 2 Wellington Cup winner Maygrove, was claimed by John Morrisey, of New South Wales.

The colt is out of the Stravinsky mare Babington, who won four races, from a potent female line. Included on the pedigree page is the Gr 1 NZ Breeders’ Stakes winner Saint Cecile, also successful at Group Two level.

It is also the family of Pompeii Pearl, who triumphed in the Gr 1 Manawatu Sires’ Produce Stakes during her unbeaten New Zealand career. She was subsequently sold to American interests for a seven figure sum.
