Suffire - Oaks hope strengthens her claims
06 Feb 2015Suffire’s classic adds were trimmed yesterday after the progressive filly handled a rise in class with ease at Tauranga.
The three-year-old had no trouble graduating from a maiden win to Rating 65 success and maintain momentum toward a Group One goal.
Part-owned by Hallmark Stud, the daughter of Zabeel’s son Sufficient is now an $18 chance for the Gr.1 New Zealand Oaks.
“That was a pretty game win taking on the older horses and there’s improvement in her,” co-trainer Andrew Scott said. “She’ll head down to the Lowland next against her own age and sex. She’s bred to stay all day and she’s going the right way toward the Oaks. She’s been a slow-maturing filly so that’s always been the goal with her.”
Suffire is out of a Kashani mare from the outstanding family of the multiple Group One winner and champion sire Redoute’s Choice.
