Now officially two, the Super Easy x Miss Jessie Jay filly has all the makings to be a “Champion”.
From the first crop of Darci Brahma’s dual Singapore Horse of the Year and Champion Three-year-old Super Easy, the filly is out of the Group 3-winning Spectacularphantom mare Miss Jessie Jay.
Already the dam of four foals to race, all winners – Miss Jessie Jay is the dam of two Champions – both crowned during the 2009-2010 New Zealand racing season.
The only filly in history to win both the Group 1 New Zealand One Thousand Guineas and the Two Thousand Guineas, Pins filly Katie Lee was awarded the honour of Champion NZ 3YO of the season.
Adding to her two Group 1 successes, the talented filly also captured a further five stakes races as well as as well as taking home the coveted New Zealand Bloodstock Filly of the Year award.
Her year younger sister is the Oratorio filly Banchee, who was awarded the Champion NZ 2YO title after success in the Group 1 Diamond Stakes.
Both bred and raised by Hallmark Stud, Katie Lee and Banchee are not the only stakes horses produced by Miss Jessie Jay, with the stakes placed Éclair Fantastic giving the mare three stakes horses from four to the races – quite an achievement!
Retained to race by Hallmark Stud, the Super Easy filly is currently being broken in at the farm and will be heading off to the stable of leading New Zealand trainer Tony Pike who will be in charge of adding a black type to her name – fingers crossed!
