Yesterday saw yet another very tough effort by Tavisan (Tavistock) when finishing second in the Ladbrokes Caulfield Guineas Prelude over the 1400m. The Hallmark graduate made a very good account of himself on a path towards the Caulfield Guineas in two weeks time.
Following the race, trainer Mick Price commented 'another brave run from a lovely colt, we are very happy with him, we got beaten by a very nice horse. We will look towards the Caulfield Guineas which has always been the plan. He will get a mile no worries, if he can draw a gate, he will go close.'
The son of Tavistock was purchased as a foal through online auctioneers Gavelhouse before being sent through the NZB premier yearling sale under the Hallmark banner making $135,000.
